This week is national volunteer week in Canada, and the team at Simpson, Thomas and Associates would like to acknowledge, thank and express our sincere gratitude to the army of volunteers who dedicate their time, throughout the year, to help others. We also acknowledge and thank those who are volunteering their time and services, many for the first time, to help others as we face the challenges of COVID-19 together. Whether that be by picking up groceries or prescriptions for the elderly and vulnerable in our society, to preparing and donating meals to hospital workers. WE THANK YOU!
We have been part of the Vancouver/Surrey communities for 50 years as strong advocates for victims of car accidents, but we’re always looking for opportunities to give back to our community. Our lawyers take part in Access Pro Bono, offering free legal services to those in need and some of our support staff offer up their services and free time in the weekends to volunteer for organisations close to their hearts. Many of the organisations we are proud to support within the brain injured community rely on volunteers to help them with their events, including the The Fraser Valley Brain Injury Association.
If you have been inspired to volunteer your time, skills and service, there are many great organisations to choose from. If you are specifically interested in helping seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic, BC 211 has recently launched a new service to connect seniors with volunteers.
We recongise the important role volunteers play in our communities and we thank and applaud you all! We are stronger when we work together. There are many quotes which try to summarise volunteering, we thought we’d share one by Muhammad Ali: “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth.”
THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteers out there!
